Getting Comfortable with the Uncomfortable

Coming to Train every day allows me to live out one of my personal mottos: do something that makes you uncomfortable every day. It’s a simple phrase, but it’s changed my life. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort, it happens when you lean into challenge, when you stretch yourself beyond what feels easy.
Outside the gym, I chase that same feeling of challenge and connection: climbing mountains, exploring trails with my dog, and backpacking through the wild places that feed my soul. But inside the gym, that mindset continues to grow stronger. Whether it’s trying a new movement that scares me, throwing an extra five pounds on the bar, or simply waking up before sunrise to get my head right, Train gives me my daily dose of uncomfortable growth.
At Train, I’m reminded that strength isn’t just about the body — it’s about the heart and the mind too. Every lift, every WOD, every early morning is a chance to train all three.
This summer, I may have pushed a little too hard (classic overachiever move). But instead of sidelining me, the coaches at Train stepped in and helped me scale workouts so I could stay consistent and recover smart. They made sure I could keep showing up, building strength while giving my body the care it needed to prepare for my next adventure.
I’m grateful for this place and the people who fill it. Every day I walk through those doors, I’m reminded why I started: to grow, to push, and to keep getting comfortable with the uncomfortable. The next adventure is always waiting, and thanks to Train Denver, I’ll be ready for it.
