Fueling Adventure Through CrossFit: How I Stay Ready for Life’s Next Peak

Passion. Purpose. Adventure. These aren’t just words I throw around – they’re the fuel that drives my life. Outside the gym, my two greatest loves are snowboarding and travel. These passions have given me a life rich with adventure and stoke, but here’s the truth: adventure demands resilience. And that’s where CrossFit has been my foundation.
CrossFit doesn’t just keep me strong – it keeps me ready. Ready to hike volcanoes in Central America. Ready to splitboard in untouched mountain ranges. Ready to walk among the chaos of the world’s mega-cities with energy and vitality.
And yes, ready even when life throws setbacks at me. I’ve broken a tibia. I’ve battled a swollen ankle. But you know what? CrossFit gave me the ability to keep moving. Even when I hobbled into the gym on crutches, the coaches and community at Train never let me sit on the sidelines. Every workout was adapted to meet me where I was, so I never lost my momentum – physically or mentally. That community was a lifeline, reminding me that injuries don’t define me – my persistence does.
One of my most unforgettable experiences came when I was invited to photograph an expedition-based snowboard company in Kyrgyzstan. Imagine living in a yurt for five weeks, surrounded by mountains that look like they’ve been carved by the hand of God Himself. Every day, snowboarding, exploring, pushing limits. And every moment, I knew I was there because CrossFit had prepared me. Without it, my body and mind wouldn’t have been ready for that level of adventure.
Here’s what I’ve learned: life will always test you. But if you’re strong, if you’re resilient, if you’re ready – you can rise above and turn tests into triumphs. For me, CrossFit isn’t just about fitness. It’s about freedom. The freedom to live fully, explore deeply, and show up powerfully for every adventure that comes next.
And I’ll tell you this – I’m not done. Not even close. The best adventures are still ahead. And I know CrossFit will keep me ready for all of them.
