More Than a Gym – A Place to Train, Grow, and Belong

At Train Denver, we believe fitness should be more than just a workout—it should be a path to lifelong strength, resilience, and confidence. That’s why we offer expert-led group training in Denver that blends personalized coaching with the power of community. Our mission is to help people of all fitness levels move better, feel stronger, and build a lifestyle that supports their goals both inside and outside the gym. We’re not just another CrossFit gym—we take the methodology and do it better, focusing on long-term fitness, injury prevention, and sustainable progress. Our members stay for the results but love us for the accountability, camaraderie, and energy that make every class the best hour of their day.

Brooke Bergeson

Founder

I founded Train Denver in 2011, but you could say fitness has been in my blood since birth. My dad was a big fitness guy, and my earliest “workouts” included hanging onto his back while he knocked out weighted pull-ups. Growing up, sports were my thing, and working out was just what I did for fun.

That competitive drive took me all the way to Metro State College, where I won two national championships as team captain. After earning my degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others experience the power of fitness. CrossFit gave me a way to keep my competitive fire alive, but more importantly, it showed me how training goes beyond sets and reps-it’s about showing up for yourself and your community. I’ve spent the past 13 years building Train into more than just a gym. It’s a place where people push limits, celebrate every win (big or small), and lift each other up-literally and figuratively. My favorite client? My mom. She started training when I opened the gym, and she’s been the most dedicated member we have. She works out to be around for her grandkids. I work out because I never want to lose the ability to be an athlete. And I coach because I want to help others find their strength, both in and out of the gym. Outside of Train, my husband is my biggest supporter, I’m a mom to three amazing, hilarious and kind kids, and the proud owner of a giant South African mastiff named Panda. I love steak, music (mainly hip-hop and country), and traveling the world. But nothing beats seeing this community step up for one another. I feel incredibly lucky to have built a space where people truly want to be.

Jimmy Warne

Coach

Jimmy joined Train Denver as an athlete in 2018 and stepped into coaching in 2019. With a background in soccer and competitive mountain bike racing, he pursued a career in health and wellness, earning a degree in Integrative Physiology (Sports Science) from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2007.

He later earned a Master’s in Public Health, focusing on the powerful connection between fitness, mental health, and addiction recovery. Jimmy trains to keep the dad bod strong and set an example for his daughter. He’s passionate about helping others improve both their physical and mental well-being-and if you ever challenge him to an Eminem rap battle, just know you’re about to lose yourself trying. Abby Storm

Coach

Sports and fitness have always been a huge part of my life. In high school and college, my friends would ask me to write workouts to help them stay in shape, and that passion for movement eventually led me to coaching. I started as a Zumba instructor in college-staying fit and making some extra cash-before discovering CrossFit in 2016 through a two-week Groupon trial.

From that first workout, I was hooked. In 2021, I joined Train, coaching the Kids Program before stepping into a Group Class coaching internship. By 2023, I took the leap-left my corporate job-and made coaching my full-time career. I love working with newer athletes, guiding them through their “firsts” and watching their confidence grow as they accomplish things they never thought possible. Seeing people progress and make changes that transform their lives is what fuels me every day. Outside the gym, I spend time with my three (yes, THREE) adorable cats and love heading to the mountains-preferably at 14,000 feet or higher. -Level 2 CrossFit Certification.

Emma Lewis

Coach

I’ve been an athlete for as long as I can remember-starting gymnastics at two years old and competing as a swimmer through college. I found CrossFit through Strongman competitions and quickly realized that while lifting heavy things is fun, pushing through workouts with friends is even better. The community is what brought me in, and it’s what keeps me here!

Now, I love coaching everyday athletes who want to challenge themselves, build confidence, and have fun along the way. My goal is to help people feel strong inside and outside the gym. Fun fact: I come from a big (and slightly chaotic) family-2 brothers, 1 sister, and 4 step-siblings. And yes, we still annoy each other just as much as when we were kids! – Level 2 CrossFit Certification.

Erik Nuenighoff

Coach

I started doing CrossFit back in 2014. I was training at traditional gyms before but was starting to get bored and uninspired to train. A new CrossFit gym opened up a few blocks from my apartment in NYC so I figured I’d give it a try. I was immediately humbled, but hooked. I saw what it did for my fitness and wanted to share that with other people, so in 2022 I decided to begin coaching.

My reasons for training have shifted over the years. I still want to be able to play sports and be active outside of the gym but my biggest reason is my family. It’s so important to me to lead an active and healthy lifestyle so that I can be at my best and set a great example for my son. I enjoy training anyone who has the desire to be better than they were yesterday. It doesn’t matter if you’ve trained for over a decade or if you’ve never set foot in a gym. Seeing people learn new skills and break plateaus is why I’m a coach. One funny thing about me is that I can’t stand musicals.

Olivia Oppenheim

Coach

Olivia Oppenheim: Athletics and fitness have always played a vital role in my life. I grew up playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse, while always looking for new ways to stay active. After playing collegiate lacrosse, I felt like I was losing my athletic identity and searched for ways to maintain my competitive edge. I found this through coaching.

After receiving my Masters in Sport and Performance Psychology, I realized I had more to give to the athletics community and individuals looking to enhance their performance. Crossfit not only allows me to remain competitive and fit personally, but it also allows me a space to help others better themselves and achieve their goals. Training is a part of my routine. It’s a non-negotiable for me. In order to talk the talk, I must first walk the walk. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing an athlete achieve something they never thought they could, because they put in the work to do it. I don’t care if the goal is being able to run instead of walk, if we are trying to get our first Bar Muscle Up, or if we are trying to beat last year’s Rx Murph time. It’s about meeting an athlete where they are at, and getting them one step closer to that goal each day. I balance my time between coaching adults at CrossFit and 3rd-12th grade girl’s lacrosse. So, if you are talking while I’m talking, I’m not afraid to hit you with a “1-2-3- eyes on me!” Or if we have a really good training session, we might have to bring it in for a team huddle cheer at the end 🙂
